Staff reports | It’s about to get started again. More than two dozen new Statehouse faces will meet for the first time next week in Columbia with veteran lawmakers as the state House and Senate reorganize on Dec. 6.
Senate: The state Senate will meet at noon Dec. 6 at the Statehouse to elect officers and conduct its organizational session. The meeting will be broadcast on SCETV and be aired online. The Senate GOP Caucus will meet 15 minutes before the session in 207 Gressette.
House: The House will hold the first meeting of a two-day organizational session starting at 11 a.m. Dec. 6 in Columbia. This meeting also will be broadcast on SCETV and aired online. Tuesday’s session will be followed by work on Wednesday. Other House meetings scheduled for next week:
- House Legislative Ethics Committee, Blatt 511, upon adjournment of the House on Tuesday.
- House Rules Committee, Blatt 511, upon adjournment of the House on Wednesday.
- House Regulations and Administrative Procedures Committee, Blatt 409, 30 minutes after house adjourns on Wednesday.
