Hurricane Matthew is expected to impact the South Carolina coast Saturday with high winds and a storm surge that could swamp coastal homes.  It’s still not clear whether the storm, hugging the Florida coast on Friday morning as highlighted in the image above, will make landfall.  But even if it skirts along the coast, it won’t harm hundreds of thousands of area residents who evacuated after orders by Gov.
