According to The (Raleigh, N.C.) Williamson will assume the presidency of the North Carolina system on July 1. It has 58 colleges, compared to the 16 technical colleges in the Palmetto State.
State builders honor Haley
S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley received the Hammer and Trowel Award from the Home Builders Association of South Carolina late last month. It is given annually to “the person who has shown the greatest positive impact on the state’s housing industry that year,” according to the association.
“Governor Haley has been a close ally to the residential construction industry since 2004, and has been instrumental in passing legislation that promotes the residential building industry, and more importantly, home ownership for the citizens of South Carolina,” said Earl McLeod, EO of the BIA of Central South Carolina.
“She has been a staunch supporter of the home builder agenda and has been a leader on every environmental and land use issue for more than a decade,” he said.
