Political parties shouldn’t redraw legislative lines
To the editor:
We need an amendment to the South Carolina Constitution that will remove political parties from gerrymandering to their own benefit and set up a commission made of people who will create districts to the benefit of the people of South Carolina, not the political special interests, and who will treat the people of South Carolina with respect, not as slaves of some political plantation.
— William Heitsman, Darlington, S.C.
Dark money is scary
To the editor:
You hit it out of the park this week. It is scary. Keep digging!
The tone of the debate in the Senate over the past two weeks has been as raw as I have ever seen it. It’s a shame.
