Legislators introduced relatively few bills this week. Of interest:
IN THE SENATE 1128 –
Teen dating violence. S. 1141 (Sheheen) seeks to create an offense of teen dating violence with penalties and several provisions.
Death penalty. S. 1135 (Malloy) seeks to keep people from being sentenced to death of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole if an offense was committed before the person was 18 years old. S. 1136 (Malloy) is a proposal for a constitutional amendment to seek a similar outcome.
IN THE HOUSE (5012 –
Disability consent. H. 5021 (Collins) seeks to enact the “Adult Students with Disabilities Educational Rights Consent Act” to provide policies and procedures through which students eligible for special education but may not be able to provide informed consent can get an agent to provide consent, with several provisions.
