That’s South Carolina rank out of 50 states for return on investment for taxes paid to the state and local government, according to a new study by WalletHub. In other words, South Carolina has the nation’s seventh worst state rank in delivering quality services at a reasonable cost. The overall rank included indicators for infrastructure (10th of 50), education (29), health (43), safety (50), economy (46) and pollution (12). The bottom-of-the-country safety ranking included data from the crime rate, vehicle fatalities, sex offenders and youth incarceration rate. Read more.
